International / Out Of State

UCLA is home for more than 12,000 international students and scholars away from home. Indeed, part of what makes UCLA great is the wide variety of experiences and backgrounds our students bring to our campus community. Each year, UCLA brings in students from nearly 80 countries around the world, which truly makes UCLA an international institution.

Bruins Beyond Borders

Bruins Beyond Borders is a new mentorship program from the International Students Association (ISA) specifically designed for helping incoming international first year students transition smoothly to UCLA.

International students at UCLA are often underrepresented, and hence this program strongly believes that creating a foundation that fosters growth, acceptance and holistic well-being for international students is much needed. Their aim is to provide academic, emotional, and social support to mentees, as they are often faced with uncertainty, culture shock and homesickness. They want to allow for an easier transition to UCLA life, showing international first year students what it means to be a Bruin and how to make the most of it!
